I have already shared banana puree for babies. Sometimes, we don’t get bananas for babies to make a puree. At that time, this raw banana powder helps us a lot to prepare as a porridge to our baby. You can give raw banana powder porridge daily or 2 days once to your baby. It facilitates easier bowel movement helps to avoid constipation to the baby.

I have used nenthiram raw banana or Kerala raw banana to make this powder. You can use any other variety of raw banana as per your place availability. Just peel off the skin from the banana, cut into finely sliced pieces and then the sun dry it inside the room where you get enough sunlight. I am using an oven to dry the banana slices since there is not enough sunlight here in my place and then ground it using a mixer.

Ingredients

Kerala Raw Banana / Nendram Banana / Raw Banana / Vazhakkai – 1 or as needed

How to prepare raw banana powder for babies with step by step pictures

1. Take raw bananas as per your needs. I used one nendram banana.

2. Peel off the skin from the raw banana using a peeler.

3. Cut into thinly sliced pieces

4. Arrange all the slices in a tray.

5. Sun dry the banana slices inside the room where you get enough sunlight until it turns crispy. I used an oven to dry the slices at 225°F / 105°C in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until it turns into crispy.

6. Once it is dried completely, take a mixer jar or food processor, put the dried pieces and grind it to a smooth fine powder. Sieve the flour if needed. Cool completely and store in an airtight container.

Tips

1. Mothers feeding is exclusively best for babies ever. So, continue the breastfeeding even if you start other foods.

2. Whenever to start new food to your baby, feed continuously for 3 days the same food.If your baby didn’t get any allergies or any other reactions, you can continue the same dish combine with other veggies one by one. Likewise, introduce every food to your baby.

3. Don’t force your baby to eat everything you prepare. Day by day increases the amount of food to your baby.

1. Every time before feed your baby, wash your hands and sterilize the baby bowl and spoons with warm water.

2. Make sure your baby food is fresh always. Don’t keep it for a long time.
